Death Doula

About Dusty

Dusty Rademacher, Death Doula

My name is Dusty Rademacher; Death doula, licensed social worker, and educator. I provide over 25 years of experience walking alongside individuals and families through some of life’s most tender and challenging moments.

At the heart of my work is deep compassion and advocacy — a belief that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and supported in the ways that honor their story. As a death doula, I help people and their loved ones navigate the end of life with presence, understanding, and choice.

I believe in dying wisely — approaching death not as something to perfect, but as something to meet with awareness, intention, and grace. My hope is to help each person find a path through dying that truly fits them and their family — one that feels authentic, peaceful, and whole.

I offer gentle guidance and compassionate support through one of life’s most sacred transitions. This is a space where you can exhale — where fear softens, questions are welcome, and you are met exactly where you are.

Whether you’re preparing for your own death, walking beside someone you love, or simply learning to make peace with the unknown, you don’t have to do it alone.

Light in the Dark was born from the belief that even in our hardest moments, there is still light to be found — in connection, in truth, and in love. My hope is to help you find that light and carry it with you, wherever this journey leads.

My Philosophy

I often talk about dying wisely rather than striving for a “good death.” To me, dying wisely means approaching death with awareness and intention — making choices that align with who you are, and allowing room for both the sacred and the human parts of that experience.

It’s not about perfection; it’s about presence.
